Each year we cope with "Foggy Day." These days are often confusingfor parents and students. Please read this section carefully anddiscuss it with your child.
What is a Foggy Day?
A foggy day is a day when the bus drivers decide that visibility istoo poor to safely drive a bus.
Who calls the Foggy Day?
The KCUSD has spotters located all over the attendancearea. These spotters, as well as the bus drivers, are responsiblefor calling "Foggy Day." schedule.
What happens on a foggy Day?
Buses will be delayed one or two hours or may notrun at all depending upon conditions. Channel 18 and many local radiostations will be broadcasting all the necessary information regarding the"Foggy Day."
Any change in the school day on Foggy Days?
Teachers will be in their classrooms at the regularscheduled time and students who walk to school or parents who wish to drivetheir children to school may arrive at school as usual. PLEASE EXERCISECAUTION WHEN COMING TO SCHOOL.
Those children coming by bus will arrive later. There is no change in the normal dismissal times. Please watch eitherchannel 18 or listen to the radio for information regarding foggy days.
